OptoVisit was founded on a simple belief: everyone deserves excellent eye care, whether or not they can get to the high street.
Who we are
We're a family-run domiciliary eye care provider bringing professional, compassionate eye care directly to homes and care homes. Using high-end portable equipment, we deliver the same standard of examination you'd expect from a leading high-street practice, in your own surroundings.
Every appointment is unhurried and personal. We take the time to understand each patient's needs, involve family and carers where helpful, and follow up with free aftercare on every pair of glasses we fit.
Meet Mehdii and Shanaz
Mehdii Baboa
BSc MCOptom · FounderMehdii has been immersed in optometry since the age of 14, starting out in an independent local practice. He completed his professional training at City, University of London and Moorfields Eye Hospital, and has spent over 17 years providing detailed eye care in high-end practices using the latest technology.
His special interests include medical retina, glaucoma and binocular vision. Driven by a passion for domiciliary care, he founded OptoVisit to bring that same standard of eye care to people who can't easily reach a practice.
Away from work, Mehdii enjoys renovating his home as a self-taught plumber and carpenter.
Shanaz Baboa
BSc MCOptom · Co-founderShanaz has worked in optometry from an early age, managing boutique optical practices with a warm, personable approach and meticulous attention to detail. She trained at City, University of London and Moorfields Eye Hospital, developing expertise in advanced eye care.
Her special interests include medical retina, anterior eye conditions and cataracts. She has supported the Friends of Moorfields and provided eye care for several charities, and with a keen eye for fashion, she makes sure every patient looks and feels their best.
In her spare time, Shanaz enjoys reading, crochet and baking.
