Every pair of glasses is laser engraved with the resident's name, so they never go missing around the home.
Hand-delivered, with ongoing aftercare
We hand deliver and fit every pair ourselves, with ongoing aftercare for every pair of glasses we supply.
Reports for care plans
Every examination comes with a detailed eye care report for the care plan — and every resident receives their own copy too.
We support your team too
"As the Registered manager of a 62-bed care home, I understand how important it is to provide our residents with comprehensive care, and eye health is often an overlooked area. That's why I am so grateful to have Mehdii and Shan from Optovisit supporting us. They are truly exceptional optometrists who go above and beyond to ensure our residents receive the best care in a way that's tailored to each individual. Their professionalism, kindness, and attention to detail provide me with the confidence that our residents' eye care needs are in excellent hands. I wholeheartedly recommend Optovisit to anyone seeking quality eye care services."

Over half of care home residents living with dementia have a vision problem — and most are treatable.
Dementia & Eyesight: the factsQuestions care home managers ask us
What does it cost the home or the resident?
For eligible residents the eye examination is NHS-funded, and NHS optical vouchers go towards the glasses. We check every resident's eligibility and handle the NHS paperwork — there is nothing for the home to fund. Private options are available for residents who are not eligible.
Can you examine residents with dementia or limited communication?
Yes. Our optometrists use objective techniques such as retinoscopy that do not rely on reading letters or answering questions, and appointments are unhurried, in the resident's own surroundings, with carers and family involved wherever helpful.
What do we need to do as a home?
Very little. We just need a list of residents who would like eye care, with consent where appropriate. We bring all the equipment, keep the records, provide reports for care plans and manage recalls so nobody is missed.
How quickly can you visit?
We pride ourselves on fast response times. Get in touch and we will arrange a first visit at a time that suits your home and your residents.
What happens after the eye test?
Each resident receives a detailed eye care report for their care plan, plus their own copy. Where glasses are needed we supply them laser-engraved with the resident's name, hand-deliver and fit them, and provide ongoing aftercare for every pair.
